Took pictures of dead anchovies on the way out 0700. When I came back afternoon the launch ramp was closed. The white in photo is dead anchovies on bottom. Check the  website.

Otherwise caught a nice vermillion, a blue, and three brown between 1/2 and 1/4 mile north of mile marker. Nice day.

Was the main ramp closed too or just the small craft dock/launch?

Modified:  Bayside Marine posted that the 'launch ramp' is closed.  I take that to mean the main ramp (too).  They said "hope to reopen saturday"

Enlighten me How will the ramp closure help the anchovy die off. I would think it would it would be of a benefit to oxygenate the water. So what is suppose to happen, to alleviate the problem. The fish can't swim off and well I guess it is time for a seal team.

I forsee a couple thousand mashed up chovies, run over on the ramp, clogging up raw water intakes, chovie bits might end up scatterred all over the ramp stinkin up the joint, people slip on dead chovies, bacteria hazard, slick of dead chovy oil greasing up an already slippery ramp that eats vehicles like no other ramp in norcal.......I'm sure there's a reason, they would not cut off a revenue source unless there was a legit liability.

You can always launch from the public dock on the wharf, parking will cost you though (think its $24 for the full day).

Can't kayakers just drop the kayak into the water off the side, rather than going down the ramp? I mean sure it's a little more tricky but I think it's doable.

As of this morning the main boat launch was open, but the kayak/small craft was not.

I have parked on the wharf and wheeled to the beach before, the lifeguards had a heart attack, and I just said, "ok, next time...."
