Should be at the ramp around 7:30am. Plan to paddle up Snodgrass towards Twin Cities.
Company is always welcome.

Al, I couldn't tempt you in to fishing the lower delta? The striper bite is picking up on the lower sections. Salmon are still a no show.

The salmon run confuses me.  How come there are Salmon farther up in the Feather River now but they still have not showed in the lower delta?  Hows that work?

Yes Brian, you could...I'm weak and can be easily temped. What/where are you considering?
I thought you were going to Tahoe this weekend?

BTW, I have two cases of empties for you.

The salmon are coming through the lower river but they are moving fast, water temp is around 59-61 degrees. They prefer 57ish and below temps. When the water temp starts to drop, they start holding. Fish that are showing up in the upper river with sea lice on them have been in the fresh water for less than 36 hours. I am not sure of the time frame for scale loss.  You can pick up fish when they are moving through fast, but its harder, they haven't stacked up yet.

Travis and I are talking about a run to the feather possibly. I'll keep you posted on what we decide.

Thanks for the enlightenment Brian.  Yea I think the feather would be awesome right now.  There are not many reports from the lower feather because it doesn't seem to get much boat pressure.  There should be some big stripers, salmon, and there are always smallmouth bass in there.  It is an awesome river, and the water is cleaner than the sacramento.

The best spot I have found thats close to my home is Beer Can Beach.  It is just south of the highway 99 bridge.  There is a dirt path that you take for maybee 100 yards to the beach where you launch.  I am trying to find a good launch farther upriver.  I think it would be fun to do a drift down the river and stop and fish some of the deep holes.  If all else fails the smallmouth action should be hot.  I am going to do some exploring for launch spots along the river and maybee take some pics tomorrow.  I am working Saturday morning but Sunday would be a great day for me.  I will keep you guys posted on what I find.

I have been quietly watching this thread and will probably hit the water somewhere this Sunday.  I am interested in trying the feather, but I am not sure that I want to drive that far, so I may stay further south, somewhere in the delta.  Still watching this thread and trying to decide.

Hey Bigfoot, I am not sure what you where trying to show with the map, but if my I remember correctly, the star looks to be located almost on top of the Sierra Nevada brewery.  There is good stuff at the brewery  :beer1 but I don't remember any fish there.

Well you guys know that the american seems to be kicking out the most fish of any the reports I have read. Check the sniffer board for the american thread.  Maybe a drift of the american?

Those sniffer reports are making the American look tempting to me.
