Marin Salmon hunt (Video Report)

 Peddling out on friday 7/25 I had a goal in my mind to land a pink, I've already lost 6 fish and have yet to land my first 2014 Salmon so I was wondering what I was doing wrong, being overly cautious now I re-spooled all my reels and change all my terminal tackle to ensure there will be no problems on the next hookup. I paddled out to the salmon grounds started trolling for an hour and Bam! Reel goes off, I grab the reel and started to fight the fish and the Salmon decides to run towards me and Deja Vu all over again it shakes the hook. I was pretty heart broken once again but knowing that fish around Im now trolling even harder. Reset the line back down and trolled around for a few more minutes I felt the urge to eat my orange that I brought and BAM!!! On again, once again the fish charged the boat but since I have an AI i kept the sail up and sailed away from the fish, but now I have another problem, my main line is wrapped around the downrigger cable. CRAP! why can't it just be easy? I loosened the drag and unwrapped the line which took about 10 seconds and got back to the fight. I was so relieved that the fish was still on. I fought this beast up, down, left right for about 15 minutes before I got it up to the boat and I was like DAMN! this thing is a Beast! the rest of the video below explains it all. The Fish ended up weighing 33.5 LBS a personal best!

Awesome job Jae! I feel for you. Hope this is a preview of the upcoming WSB season when they start coming in.
Got one in the same area in the 20+ lb range last Monday and lost one also. They are some quality fish, just have to work for it.

Great video and I feel for you bro. I've lost a lot of real big ones in Alaska and had to hang my head. Last one was about 70 pounds, fresh and silver in the ocean last year. I guess that will never be repeated in my life ever again so that was my one and only chance.
