Found this today at a thrift shop, and bought t Brenda. Can anyone tell me wtf it says?

 

Word for word, Horse Arrival Success. It's a phase Chinese use to wish someone success in achieving some major milestone. For example, if I knew you're working really hard trying to win DOTY, I would wish you Horse Arrival Success. Don't ask me why. All I know is the phrase was derived from some historical significance.

Horses bring success. It is an old Chinese proverb that is traced back to around 200 BC Qin dynasty, but is seen in popular use in Yuan dynasty literature (1200ish AD). The use of the phrase in Yuan dynasty literature was frequently a reference to the successes of Qin dynasty conquest.

Anyone familiar with Yuan dynasty literature?  On the surface it looks like there are several thematic similarities with Roman golden age literature (Virgil/Ovid etc).

It is appropriate for 2014 since we are in the year of the horse.
