That is a real popular boat spot.  There is a big hole with big boulders there.  That is about the farthest they go.  See them there every year.

and I don't think they were going that fast, the water was ripping through that run but the shoreline wasn't moving very fast in relation to the boat.   but I could of course be wrong...

Yeah he's an idiot. Buzzed me a dozen or so also. Put some half naked chicks in his boat chasing shad doesn't make him cool.
