I like the color. That's about the only draw for me. However it is a cool concept.

Yeah, if I'm understanding the concept correctly, the whole 3 setup idea is whacky. Seems like the idea is to either go with the motor and no ff or vice-versa?

you can get the predator XL with the pod that can attach fishfinder and transducer for $1599

the flat pod is a $99 part for site fishing that will give you a complete flat deck

The Predator XL MK is $2700 with minkota motor, battery box, and rudder.

Cool concept. I'm sure it will be perfect for someone. And I wouldn't kick it outta bed for eating cookies.
But it seems like the majority of the marketing campaign is centered around "hands-free" operation as they attempt to one-up pedal driven yaks (Hobie).

Last month, when we first reported that Old Town’s new Predator XL (briefly and formerly called the P3) will offer hands-free operation, kayak anglers were inspired (like us) to toss out predictions.

Hands free fishing is a growing trend and for customers who want to fish at the highest level it is the most effective way to fish. Imagine never having to put down your rod and the ability to fish non-stop

Hadden, as enthusiastic as they come, is pumped by the prospect of true hands free operation. With no pedal drive involved, the user’s feet are free to work the rudder.

Utilizing a motor allows you to steer your boat with a foot-controlled rudder system and cast, reel and fish more. With pedal drives you have to stop fishing when you need to position your boat due to the hand-controlled rudder,” he says. No more missed strikes while repositioning the boat.

So, it sounds like the motor/prop is stationary and you control turning & direction with your feet? Interesting. I suppose you could turn it on or off...adjust speed...or fwd & reverse using your crotch. But it seems more likely you'd use your hands to do that stuff.  :smt044
Sometimes it's better to simply market a product based on its features & benefits, instead of comparing it to another product.
