So we rigged our oasis for fishing... and it handles the ocean like a battle ship:) Now the wife wants a sail for the lake and bay. Never sailed before and kinda worried about the tip factor, are outriggers needed?

Sailing with a loved one does not get better then that. Congruities on your rigged battle ship, as for the outriggers my wife likes them this was the first time she sailed last week.

Awesome I'm thinking of getting an oasis to get my girlfriend out on the water. I'm more worried about the whole having to register or not if I want to sail.

Speaking from experience, much more relaxing with the outriggers.  Not so tippy.  Also consider the reefing add-on for furling your sail.  (Saw one at Headwater in Redding.)

They work pretty good still trying to fine tune it for my wife she has a tough time rolling the sail back up.
