Hey guys I'm contemplating getting a popup camper that will go over my truck bed.  I know I've seen a few out there belonging to you all.  Any suggestions on what to get?  It would go on the back of my 2006 Dodge megacab 6 ft bed. Thanks!

i heard recently that the 4wheel campers are lighter but more spartan.
compared to a heavier, more "homey" (cabinetry etc) pop up.

however, the guy i talked to was having problems with water damage in the used, non-4wheel camper he had.

so yeah, i only know that 4wheel popup campers are known for their quality.

I know one guy with the 4wheel camper brand and another with the All Terrain Camper brand.  They are both a bit spartan, but I visited the All Terrain Camper facility in Sacramento and they'll make it as cushy as you want up to the load limit on your truck (if you beef up the truck, they'll build a heavier camper for you based on that).  I think they are really cool (and a lot nicer than my pop-up), but I love throwing stuff in the bed of the truck and pulling my coleman is easy...

I used to look at the "Four wheel" campers when they were present at the ISE show in San Mateo, (A few years back) and initially I liked them, but when I looked close at the cabinets inside, I wasn't thrilled.  The looked really flimsy.  I had some concerns about water damage to the canvas due to the clamps that hold the camper top down.
I will say this though, those campers are a hell of lot more comfortable than my campershell!

How about a Pop-Tent?

You can just about throw it on any vehicle with roof rack; and don't have to worry about the 55mph speed limit when pulling a trailers.....

Speaking from experience, the Four Wheel campers are strong enough to carry two Outbacks on top.

Dude that pop up you got is dope!  If you don't bring that just sleep in the bed with a camper shell.  I must admit that those 4 wheel campers are pretty sweet but a bit over kill for one dude and a few nights.  Now if you're sledgin it.......
