Been emailing him since it went up for sale within 5 minutes and still no response.

I'd ask for the original sales receipt.
How many 'only mirage drives' has any ever seen for sale on CL?
My first assumption is it was stolen. Especially if only asking $100.

His listing says they were left by a roommate and he has his permission to sell. 

I would recommend that anyone with a Hobie drive mark it some way.  Perhaps engrave a DL number or something so you can identify it as yours if gone missing.

And what happens when you sell the kayak?  I guess if you're a habitual kayak seller like me you have to go with the flow.

Funny. I'm sure he will be very willing to sell it if you ask. Sounds legit enough to me. Sometimes a great deal comes along.

Someone knew its true value.  Buy, resell for a nice profit.

 

  "Roommate left it" who's to say the roommate didn't snatch it?  Why would he/she just have the drive? Where's the rest of the package (Hull) Sounds fishy to me.  I like the thought of marking one's drive to identify it.  I have pictures of my hull, and it's serial number, but nothing on the drive it's self.

Yup. Looks like he bought it and resold it. Same drive as most people have the turbo fins.

If anyone wants it, I'm headed up to S. Tahoe this weekend and could pick it up for ya.
