Having very little to no experience with lings and rock fish, where should I go to have a descent shot at getting some with my fly rod?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.  I'm hoping to get out one day this weekend.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

SWS, FR, SWN, TC all have good shallow structure but get hammered by the spearos. I would pick Sonoma over Monterey right now for lings. The big green on white clouser/deceiver has been working well.

I go to Salt Point when I want my shore fishing fix. I have nailed a bunch of blues and blacks on a clouser, couple short lings, haven't got a keeper on the fly yet. BUT, I haven't done it since I started kayak fishing in 08. Casting into the wind is a pain on those days when it is getting it on, but always seemed to manage. Sinking line is the key, and I tied my clousers with tungsten eyes, and gave the hook a few wraps of lead and then tied gold or silver wire over the lead before the deer hair, to get as much weight as I could on the fly. On a calm day, you could shoot that baby to Japan!
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Gamakatsu 5/0 worm hook with weed guard weighted and drag the bottom with a full sink line on the the outer kelp edge. For lings slow stroke trolling is more effective than casting.

Our last Friday at Van Damme would have been great for the flyrod. Lings were all over the water column, and shallow too. Rockies were on the surface early in the day. A nice grade of blacks and blues were very shallow later on.
I was thinking about my #10.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Anybody want to hit the salt this weekend?  I am headed to HMB Saturday morning.  I posted a hook up in members only page.
