I do what beenfishin does: early mornings and late evenings.  If you dress properly and remember to hydrate, you can fish in practically any kind of heat.  But, there comes a point where you have to ask yourself: am I enjoying this?  Is this worth it?  Once the temps start getting into the 90s I usually quit and go swimming.  I can't recall a time where the fishing was amazingly good when the air temperatures were stifling.

I don't know how you guys can live in the valley in the summer.  I tip my hat to y'all in Red Bluff, Chico, Redding.  I'd straight-up DIE down there.

Nothing that a cold wet towel over the legs and an umbrella can't fix.  I think it was 108 last year at New Melones during the FreshKat Tourney when I caught a Monster Bow.  Granted this heat is making it harder to catch the fish.

After living in bay area (Alameda) last three years I have become sun worshipper, Redding area is hot but better then wearing a coat in the summer to go to a ball game. We eat outdoors more in a month here then we did during an entire year in Alameda, many evenings it was too windy and cool. Not sure how long it will last but currently enjoying the heat.

It was another hot day in Fortuna/ Eureka @ 72 degrees. I may need to install AC in my office if this keeps up. :-)

I have figured out what to do on those hot days when the dirt is red, walk down to the river in the morning, again in the evening and play in the lake in the afternoon. Catching a lot of wild trout and sucker fish but haven't landed a salmon yet, hooked four so far but can't seem to get them to the river bank, working on my technique of walking them out of the water and letting them run until they get tired.
