108 in Redding - Red Bluff today, - curious to know what everyone's temperature limit is, when you say it is too hot to fish or where you go on hot days?

And temp limit? Find cooler water and just wade to cool off.

65 over in from Bragg and salmon are hitting hard right now. Going out tomorrow for some more.  I lived in that heat for years.  Never again.

I went fishing after work today, it was 105. All it meant is I dived into the water off my yak every 30 minutes!

That's my plan, going to walk down to the Sac River after dinner, wade and drift a fly see what's biting just before dark

I know I exceeded it one time.......was hammerhead shark fishing in Baja. Was in the sun way too long. Was delirious for hours afterwards. Luckily my wife was around and she made sure I was OK and made me rest and drink a ton of water.

We laugh about it now but it could have been very serious.

So my limit is cooler than that  :smt011

I hate the heat.  My parents moved me here to Redding from San Clemente 20 years ago, and I'm still not used to this crap.  Most of my hell-fishing is done either really early or really late under the cover of darkness.  100 is tolerable on the water, but you creep over 105 and it's just ridiculous.  Have you seen the forecast for next week?

Come on now beenfishin.  You have Whiskeytown just up the road.  All we have here close by  Chico is the mud hole called Oroville or the rice warming ponds called the Forebay or the Afterbay down at valley level.  I'd trade you in a heartbeat.

Uggh ... that sounds brutal.

Reminds me of fishing along Hat Creek as a kid. Bust out of the tent with the fly rod in hand when its just light enough to see, fish until 10am or 85 degrees (whichever came first), swimming for the rest of the day, then back on the creek from 6pm until dark.

Just jump in the water to cool off? Although above 60* water temp and sunny can be brutal or us divers :)
