Anything I can do to lend a hand just let me know.
A friend of mine runs the local 20-30 Club (junior Rotary), they are putting together a kids-of-veterans fishing day out at Ross' Pond (shasta college area) next month.  I can dig around to see what avenues they have been finding kids/contacts, and can check to see if that pond might be another option.

Ross pond would guarantee that everyone would catch plenty of bass.

If you guys can set it up I can bring about 15 kayaks, Ezups, BBQ and what ever else we have laying around the shop that's needed. We have a few different avenues to use for insurance too if needed. Just let me know.

you guys are building strong!!!

I'm in Costa Rica right now with spotty internet to say the least… I'm back on the first of August and will start getting you guys going…

we can get a event happening without you guys being official so just start to think about a date and place, we'll just use the Nor Cal HOW chapter for paperwork/insurance/letters for stuff and we'll show ya HOW it's done…

you'll be up and running in no time!!!

  Pura Vida!!!

So HOW y'all doing up North?

I've ready to plan an event up there under the Nor Cal HOW flag, and we'll see what comes of it afterwards for starting a Redding Chapter…

I'll do all the paperwork, advice and have some contacts, but other than that. We Need all your boots on the ground up there to make it happen...

The body of water is a go. jbaker and the rest of us have enough boats to do a dozen or so guys. I'm sure we can produce enough food for a swell breakfast and lunch. jbaker has rescue certs too right?

The weather should hopefully cool down here soon to make it comfortable (still triple digits on and off)

I guess we need a date and about 12 dedicated paddlers? Then roll the spiel out at the V.A.?

Something like that,

I think Headwaters is up for helping too, October is a bit busy for Nor cal HOW, but anytime in November,  the VA ( they usually just do a cattle call ) usually wants to bring a bus O people,,,'

might have to start BIG, I guess we'll see what we can do in the way of participants,,,  does anyone have a connection with the VA or other vet services?

I do have contacts...

November would work, possibly target trout on Whiskeytown or Shasta? We'll have our new Hobie's (pa 17t) and eddylines by then too! I'm ACA certified and can bring 5 other certified kayak instructors to help out with paddling, rescues, safety stuff. The rest of us can put the folks on fish. We'll get the gears turning and nail down a date soon.

Do you guys have access to smaller private lake?  letting everyone go on a big lake can exceed the span of control.  If were one on one with vets, no problem, but you guys decide.

Think of logistics as the VA might bring Vets who have special needs.   :icon_weelchairbb:

Anyone for or against any specific weekends in November? Should we run a volunteer thread to try to get a roster?
