Don't be in a hurry to pull them up. Let them fight deep till you wear them out. Don't pull their head out of the water, and gaff them in the stomach.
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

Any recommended big swim baits rather than my 6 inch big hammers

Nothing against big hammers but I like to use these: http://www.lunkercity.com/shaker-c.html

I order them through Amazon cuz I rarely get to a shop that carries BH's and in my experience they're just as good!

The "albino shad" color has caught me a couple hali's.  The crazy "atomic chicken" color was killing the lings last weekend (first time I used it) and I lost the rig on a bite that felt suspiciously like a big hali.

Stay away from nets if your running bait with droppers. Sure fire way to get it all fouled up and loose em. Stick with the gaff. Come up from under them and keep the head under. Once they are on deck throw a leg over em and give em the scissors. Lip gripper and then on the clip. Watch one of Dc's videos. You'll see a pro at work.
