Only in the Army...

Would someone line the inside of a big ass tent with some black liner. I feel like I am in the easy bake oven.  Damn US Contractor's who make this lame brained stuff.  I have to outside where it is 96 degrees to cool down.  had one guy go this morning to a possible heat causality.  Camp Roberts, doesn't matter when you go, one thing is for certain, its going to suck!  On a positive note the river that runs through it is not bone dry yet.  So I hope the steelhead will make it up later on!  No sign of elk, but they are know to pop in out of no where.  Only 11 more days to go before end of exercise (endex).   
While on the 9.5 hour convoy from Santa Rosa to Camp Roberts, my driver decided to have a monster drink, which I am okay with until his turn dumped it on me, the radio, my rifle.  None to happy about that, but he cleaned it up.

So far nothing but fun here at Camp Crappy!

LOL!  I have good memories outta Roberts!  We did a live-fire, shoot and moves while some artillery company blew the hell out of a ridgeline.  It was badass!   

Here's my recommendation though... don't let the MP's catch you fording the creeks.  They are "fairy shrimp" protected habitat. LOL  My buddy was an MP at Roberts for a short time after 9/11 and had to brief EVERY unit in the field about fording the creeks.  He said it was humiliating... LOL  Enjoy humping out there... I miss it.

Been to Camp Roberts in 85 while stationed in Ft Ord....weather was actually perfect but then again I was in Aviation Maintenance and we had portable air-conditioned shops.
