Okay when I win 2nd place , I live in Suisun and I will be catered and Poker Party and dinner down here or is this for something in the Humbolt area?

I had the same thought. The fish finders in that pack would be the only thing us non Humboldt people could use.

One of the local sponsors is a casino.

It's for a prime rib dinner and poker at the casino that you can see on the hill above the harbor. If you need help coming up with 20 people I think there are a few of us around that can help you out there

Remember if you are in second place you get to choose between the two remaining prize packages. The poker party could go to first place, if it gets chosen or go to third place if it's the last package to be chosen. Me personally, I don't need a new kayak, I'm fine with the ones I have. If I got first place I would choose the poker tournament. The poker tournament and dinner is worth $1500. Factor in the humidor with cigars and two fish finders and you added another $800 in value to the prize package.

In regards to the poker tournament for 20 people, there is no buy in. Casino supplies the chips and a 1st, 2nd &  3rd place prizes for the tournament winners. It's a pretty sweet deal that they are doing for us. As you know it also comes with dinner for 20, two fishfinder and a box of cigars.

If I was down in Sacramento and I won that,  I would plan a massive road trip "mandate"  with all my buddies and rage it up.

To sum it up, 3rd place may be the only one "stuck"  with this package. Even if you won this package, I bet you could get some pretty sweet trades from the locals, even out of towers. What I think is unique about our tournament is our main prize package items aren't a bunch of gear everyone already has. We do offer that gear but it's thrown in in addition to our main prizes.

I think all of the prize packages are good.  I appreciate all of the hard work you are putting in to organizing this event.  If my team somehow won the poker prize package it would mean that my brother caught more than one fish in six hours.  Maybe we should have a poker tournament the night before at the campground.

+1.  These prize packages are legit!  I'm really looking forward to this year's Rockfish Wars.  MattSwayze and I have been talking strategy these past few days.  The combination of a 'team limit' and varied point values for each species opens the door for a variety of ways for one to approach this year's tourney.  I look forward to seeing how it all pans out.  Just crossing my fingers for good weather!

I think I will go to Cher-Ae Heights Casino and try the American style kobe beef burger while I'm in town. I went to their website and got a kick out of the HarborCam live streaming. Looking forward to this event. -Amos
