I have been fishing from shore since I was a kid. I was given a kayak last summer and thought I would like to try fishing from it. Any help is appreciated.

First of all welcome. We share your love of fishing, there is a wealth of knowledge and goodwill here. What kind of kayak are you rockin'?

Great paddling kayak, if I had room for more than one I would still have mine.

Welcome to NCKA! I have had 5 scupper pro's over the years. They are one of the fastest SOT's ever made for fishing and diving. Built before the real kayaks geared to specific fishing were made. Do you have the TW or dual hatch? Be gald to help you or answer any questions you might have. Started diving  then fishing off a SOT in 1974.

+1 Scupper Pro love here. Got one for my wife; each time we voyage together I get winded trying to keep up with her, and I'm in a Tarpon which is a fairly quick SOT. I find the scupper pro to be a top.performer for surf landings too due to the wide nose and slim tail. Seems to lead the boat straight rather than the common sidewise stuff that other boats seem to do. Nice score on the hand-me-down! Welcome to the madness.

Don't know if this is the right place, but I'll give it a try. I teach so I'm on summer break. Is anyone interested in meeting up on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday for some Delta fishing. Right now I feel more comfortable with someone rather than paddling alone.
