Its raining Squid

Come on WSB!!!

  Took the words right outta my keyboard.   

The signs are there....  Let's hope!

The entire CA fleet of purse seiners that wrap squid have been working the area for over a month now...with zero hint of WSB or salmon around. It's weird. I talked to a guy who motored his light boat up from Dana Pt weeks ago and he said he's been fishing hook & line when he has time...with zero success. Weird. No squid in SLO, no squid in LA, no squid in SD...they are all here in Monterey. I'm not sure what it all means. But I kinda hope they reach their quota soon because it would suck if they removed all the squid from the system before they had a chance to spawn (need warmer water)...because that's what normally turns on the bite. I've heard a bunch of theories lately, but only time will tell...this is an unprecedented situation. So nobody really knows what'll happen.

I was down there yesterday and it was crazy seeing how many squid boats are out there!!

I was tempted to swim out to them and see the action underwater...they weren't very far offshore!!!!
