My friend Mario came up with this alternative to Hobie's $$$ front bucket. We used Tubtrugs middle 6.9 gal model and it comes in lots of colors! Fits really well! Costs about $25 up in Humboldt Co. but half was shipping which might be cheaper for several buckets. If you're near a larger city you might be able to find them locally. I am using a 2012 Outback. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UJR1XA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2V9P49ZSJANA8&psc=1

I've also heard that the  Mainstays 11 Gal Flex Tub from Walmart works as well, a lot cheaper than $25 - They are $6 if you can find them.

Well that's unfortunate.  Glad you got one to fit though.  Must have been a different mainstays flex tub.

I just ordered one from Amazon for $9.10 + $5.35 shipping. I kept clicking on the different colors until this dark green one came up for cheap.

We'll see.

Hobies marketing kills me. When I bought my '04 Outback it was the "fisherman" and came with everything. Anchor system, tackle box, cooler, wheels, hatch buckets, speedometer. None of this $50-$150 a piece crap.

Thanks for the cheaper alternative.
