Arrived in Bahia de los Angeles yesterday! 2 day drive down in WINDY conditions. The weather is warm,80 and calm in the morning, capping in the afternoon. Reports of Bonita out in front of the casita. Heading to the estuary later today for a bucket of clams and then set the kayaks up for fishing tomorrow. Getting excited to wet a line and the wind is supposed to die down tomorrow. We'll be here 3-4 weeks or until it gets too hot for this central coast fog lover. Good thing about windy days,it's good for riding the KTM on the Baja 1000 course.
The best of both worlds!!!   Oh yea, and then there's that new LG RELEASE reel to try out, thanks Chad,i'll let you know how it does. :smt006

Where are you staying?
How is the water temp and vizibility? ...in case you're freediving/snorkeling...
Is the road to Le Gringa still closed/restricted? if not you can drive through the dump going north and paddle out to the north end of Isla Smith - great YT spot in the channel between the two islands.

We're staying at our beach house just outside of the town of Bahia de los Angeles. The road to La Gringa is on the opposite side of town, easily accessed with a car although washboarded dirt.Last year we caught about a dozen"firecracker"small Yellowtail out at nearby Smith island. It's windy again today so i'm taking the KTM525 to town for a shrimp/fish taco and cold malty beverage. :smt007
Here's a pic of one of the Yellowtails, enjoy!

We rode the bikes over to Punta Arena the other day when it was windy and not kayak friendly. The guy over there makes great breads and even better cinnamon rolls. Not bad for Baja! We might be leaving soon because it's supposed to get HOT soon, 113 predicted for next Friday, stayed about 95-100 all day yesterday.
How's the NOR CAL ??? Salmon?   Just a tip....

low to mid 90 all next week, salmon are biting on the coast, will have to wait until I can get a boat and some sea legs. Just put a bunch of money into fixing wife and sons car. That was my boat money.

Only a few sierra being caught right now.My neighbor went north of here about 20 miles and got
6 yellowtail in the 30# range. It is getting hotter by the day, 104 right now. Probably getting out of here
real soon. There's almost no relief, even on the water or in it.... Just a tip

Thanks for the update.  Born and raised in the North Valley.  Heat not an issue with me.  Usually go to Baja two or more times a year, based on what's biting and who is available (poor working stiffs).
