Thats just solar..tell me when the 2am shot hits 59, and mostly blue.

It's not just solar.  That's why I compared to the same time yesterday.  The temp charts show a finger pushing in to the buoy too.  59 doesn't get me that excited, but the fact that it can swing 3-4 degrees pretty quickly does.

But yeah, need the chloro shots to cooperate, but they are showing a good trend too.

I'm going to predict that there will be local albacore caught in May this year.

Starting to think u are right polepole. H20 is moving fast and it is a nice color.  The weenie has a sharp break and it is connected to the mass.  They spotted jumpers way up north, 25 miles offshore.
I'm gonna start sharpening hooks and making leaders.

The forecasters are saying this El Nino is looking like the one in 1997.

Look at the 6 and 10 am shots from both the 19 and the 20th, water is still only 56 or so...it is warming, and there is a bubble there that looks connected, but it isnt there yet.
Even the one day composite SST only shows 55 or 56 at the bouy, maybe 57 at the guide.

I'm looking at the actual buoy data, not the SST shots.  The coldest the buoy got last night was 57.6 at 4:50AM.  The night before, it was 55.0 at 4:50AM.  The 2-3 degree increase happened AFTER 10AM on the 20th so those shots aren't going to show you this jump.

It is on my list as well. Never having fished them before, I kind of figure on paying the $$ for a 6 pack charter but I'm not really clued in as to what to watch for.

I'll be posting 6-pack opportunities here on this thread as they come up this summer.  We usually hit it last minute if the fish are around, a weather window presents itself, and the boat is free.

Count me in in that.  Need to use that new Rod/Reel combo.   

Looks like there's a nice patch of warm blue water just outside the Guide and the 451 area. The boat is all fuel up, lock and ready to go.

They recently fixed the HMB weather buoy 46012 and it's transmitting data again. It's a helpful tool for small crafts seeking albies.

I missed this post the first time...but yeah, I agree the buoy data is more accurate that the SST shots. And this particular buoy, 46042, is usually my go-to for conditions/temps outside Mbay. It's showing a warming trend hopefully coming into the Bay...but that 59* water hasn't encroached the inside buoys yet (like 46092 & 46236).
This is definitely encouraging though...hopefully some warm water will come into the bay and make those squid start spawning.

I see I see...yah, still not warm enough, but getting close-- except maybe that bubble off the guide.  Water needs to lose its green and then there might be something happening.

A couple question about a charter Tuna charter or hell any charter for that matter.

Do we need our own rod/reel/tackle or do they supply it?
How big of a freezer do I need to hold all the fish?
