My last trip north was the day after a guy had killed an officer in Cleone. There were posters, etc all over Bragg for the memorial service.

Sounds like it was high time this particular guy was incarcerated.

Does anyone know why the police were serving the warrant? Seems like a key part of the story.

...not that different than the SC mountains I guess, except we don't have bears.

I worry less about the locals during GS than at other times. 300 people who have your back makes direct confrontation a bit less likely.

Still, when going to remote areas, plan your self defense accordingly.

Just read this a few hours ago. Thank god Deputy was wearing his body armor and took a chest shot AND that the accountable party is in custody. There are evil men in this world who are capable of evil deeds.........the minute we forget this or pretend it isn't so we become sheep.

Iv'e worn my body armor EVERY day for twenty five years.......yes it is uncomfortable but exponentially less so than a bullet hole through my brisket.
