Cancer hits home

I am flying back home Richmond Virginia tonight ..I will be returning  just in time for my GS8 drive north.
1 of my lifelong friends has been given shit for time left on earth so I need go see him before months end ..pancreatic cancer has been diagnosed and it has spread everywhere//lungs  abdomen so on ... ..This is a 1st for me with cancer hitting that close to my inner circle ...I have never had to visit a friend that was on the death bed before , I have dealt with lots of death but not like this ..I guess it is inevitable that it hits all of us on a personal level at some point....
And mom just told me I will be in town just in time for Uncle Donny's funeral from cancer (( i did not know him very well and it has been 25 years but it is salt in a wound ))

My brother and I will BOTH be at moms house for Mothers-day for the first time in over 10 years and I will see lots of family ..so that's a plus

So after I go say my goodbyes I will be  F'n happy when my eyes see all you salty dudes  at Shelter Cove...

Sorry to hear that.  It's tough.  I was lucky enough to move back in the area in time to spend the last few years with my dad before he passed away at home from Cancer.  No easy.

Tough times, Howard.  Good on you for being there for your friend.  I encourage you to find the half full parts, look to what you can control vs what you cannot, and share those goals with your buddy in a sensitive way.

Howard I feel for you brother. God speed and I will see you up at Shelter Cove.

I have a buddy that I have known for 20+ years, he just told me that his Doctor told him he has a fist sized tumor on his Pancreas so he is just starting his journey with possible pancreatic cancer.

Dang man, that's tough. I really am sorry to hear the bad news. But I hope to see you at da Cove next wknd. And hopefully you'll be feelin a little better. My mother in-law succumbed to pancreatic cancer a few days before the first PIF event in Santa Cruz...it sucked big time.
