I see the misinformation about the regulations as adding to the tension because what law abiding fisherman isn't offended by someone they believe is poaching, or they themselves being accused of poaching?

Is this regarding the possession of a speargun on the Parkway?

and just in general.

Also, to be clear:

I'm not trying to say I didn't know that a battle existed, I just didn't know that we would be considered a threat to the species.  I didn't know that the American River would be so contentious.

My point is that it wasn't an intentional or deceiptful act.  My continued envolvement in this difficult situation is how I'm taking responsibility for my part.  I could easily be like the rest and say deal with it but that's not being responsible for my actions in my opinion.  The only way I see this getting any better is for everyone to walk the difficult path of coming together.  The only other option is to stay embattled.

Those are not the only two options.  A third option would be to work to modify the regs so the AR is removed from the list of waters open to striper spear fishing.

I agree with you Joshua. Arguing really won't help anything. Only stand up for what we believe and hope it all works out.
Jim, that was the best joke ever pulled. That picture actually ended up going all over the place.
I was shown it two months after you told me the truth of it. Someone on the river swore it was from the upper river. Others said it was from the Lower section.

Trophy kills are a hunters right. Gotta remember fish are not just for food, they also are a trophy for a percentage of our group.Like folks who pay a ton of cash to shoot a Giraffe. It's legal, it's their right. And as sportsman we all have to respect that.

Seriously dude. If you don't agree that's fine. I didn't come here for trouble. Try educating rather than running people off. Let it go, and I will do the same.
Seems like you came here for trouble. Especially based on your whiny little responses...(like you knew exactly how people would reply) because you already knew about the controversy surrounding this issue, yet you felt it necessary to continue poking the hornets nest. Then you act all offended when someone calls you on it. But what does it matter to you?...you're not trying to be a contributing part of the community, so you probably don't have much personal investment. If you disappeared and never came back, nobody here would give a rats ass. They would just remember the guy who posted one trollish report then acted like he didn't know what he was doing.
Btw I don't have any issues with someone excising their right to legally pursue striped bass in a river...it looks fun and I have the utmost respect for spear fishermen because the majority are true conservationists who care about their quarry. But your posts come across like a complete troll. Just my opinion.
