Hey,
I will find myself heading out to Tomales Bay Sat, to get some of the last crab of the season.I plan on dropping my pots and then hoping to hook up with a  halibut. If swell permitting, maybe drag an apex around the point and maybe get lucky for salmon????
Since my partner broke his leg I'll be going  solo. Lawsons landing will be my start around 8 or so. And if I see a fellow NCKA member the better.
Fish On!!!

I hope you have some experience fishing the area from a kayak. There's big tides and high winds this weekend.

Good luck!

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Miller Park next to Nick's Cove is a safe launch and has a ramp and it is close to Hog Island.

Yea stay away from the entrance of the bay....it gets rough out there.  Miller park would be a better launch.

Well, how it tuned out  was  A pretty good day west of hog Island.  No fish , Too early for halibut ,
but 7 rocks crabs, 0 Dungi . (50+ mini throwbacks).   Clams ,  Huge mussels,  it was enough to make a killer  cioppino.
It was windy though!!!

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Just echoing mickfish's sentiments ... the quarantine on wild harvested mussels began last week. Just be careful, paralytic shellfish poisoning is nothing to take lightly. Even during the open season(Halloween to May 1), its a good idea to call the shellfish hotline (1-800-533-4133) prior to harvesting in case of an in season spike in biotoxins.

Nice hah though ! Sounds like a hell of a day on the water. :smt001
