After two days of nothing and trying everything at Ranch Seco only my stubbornness was working.  Using a 9' rod with a 6wt floating weight forward line I put on a 7.5' 6x leader, Tied a #14 Black Stonefly nymph on and put on a small indicator some 4" from the nymph and started fishing the reed line.  I hooked a small Crappie, then a bluegill tossed em both right back.

Ten minutes later I felt a gentle tug and set the hook.  All heck broke loose, my rod totally bent over and line started striping out..I'm using a 3.4 pound tippet and this fish was way bigger than that

He made a few runs towards the back on the finger then went zipping for deep water and spun me around in the float tube. After a couple of zig zags I got him turned and near me..oh crap this is the biggest trout I have ever hooked He made a couple more good runs and then I got him into the net my eyes were bugging out he was beautiful. Picture time!!!

Swished him back and forth a few times in the water to revive him and enjoyed watching him swim off to fight another day

Very nice fish, it definitely has some girth to it. Don't you wish you could of had a go pro going and go back and watch it all go down again?
