With that many people witnessed it and nobody video it!

I witnessed an attack very similar to this about 30 years ago on the way back from a Farallons fishing trip on a party boat. A gray whale and calf being attacked by about 10 killer whales. We got around 50 ft from the carnage and then backed off because of safety concerns.

Very shocking moment that is etched in my mind forever  :smt009

Just follow the "suggested videos" after this one to find the other three parts of the attack, or just search for EchoBeluga and the remaining video as are at the top of their stream.

Amazing the things that go on off our coast that very few people get the opportunity to lay eyes on.

Something like this happened a couple years back. There was a show about the attack where a whale watching trip witnessed the same thing. But that time the grey whale was able to get her calf to shallower water. The show mentioned that the problem comes when the grey whales go across the bay in the deeper water to short cut the trip. thei cross straight across the bays points. Orcas like the deeper water when attacking. I think the show was on discovery channel. or Animal Planet. This one ended on a sad note but life is not fair.

Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

watched a similar film clip a few years ago,
after battering  the calf for hours, they finally puched the calf down and drowned it... then they ate only its tongue then left
