+1 on PP slick 8 especially for casting. I use a Palomar for terminal connection and a double uni (6/12 turn) for braid to mono.

^this. The two times I had the uni fail on me, one was due to using fewer wraps than necessary (in a hurry to tie it) and the second was getting it tangled when I cinched the knot down. both times I was OTW and rushing.

So just to update this thread, I switched to 20 lbs Power Pro on my small spinning rig.  All knot problems appear to be resolved. The sensitivity and strength are certainly an asset.   
That Calcutta stuff has a cool logo but thats about it.

So just to update this thread, I switched to 20 lbs Power Pro on my small spinning rig.  All knot problems appear to be resolved. The sensitivity and strength are certainly an asset.   
That Calcutta stuff has a cool logo but thats about it.

I have found that a lot of the Calcutta brand item has become junk now.  Sad to see....  :smt009
