This is the first time ive  seen this.reminds me of a central American chiclid

They're currently biting in Almanor right now.  Pre-spawn stuff.  Caught a couple nice ones yesterday while fishing for smallmouth, including this new PB 16 incher.  I agree, they're very cool!  Hope to hook into more later this week, and hopefully from the kayak  .

I'll try to coax the loc. out of him. He thought it was a crappie; someone else ID'd it. Might have been the only one in there! 

Knowing your dad, he'd probably say something like WTF @*@&&$!! you better not have told anyone you little *##&!!!# or I'll beat your @&&! back to the (!*!*$ %)((%&!
