People Missing for Decades Found in Submerged Cars

A very special coupe.  Sort of a factory goof.  Shipped with SS/RS stripes, vinyl top & Corvette hub caps.  According to Chevy, this was never done on a coupe but IT WAS.  Family owned since new!

Back then there was a checklist for all the options if you ordered a car. You could pick any combo you wanted. You could get the rally stripes and the hockey sticks on the same car if you wanted.  The short Corvette style caps were an option too, and I believe came with the SS or RS package, can't remember which package now. There were lots of weird combos that people or dealers ordered. Some dealers ordered just about all options on one car just to have it in the showroom so buyers could see all the choices. In your car if it has never been restored, there will be  a build sheet, most likely behind or under the rear seat. It will show exactly how that car came from the factory.

I have all the origional papers in a box somewhere.  I did shows with it for a number of years & some "high-up" from the Camaro factory line had mentioned that he had never seen a Coupe with that stripe package during the 67-69 erra that he was on the line.  I have yet to see another coupe with that stripe package on the internet or otherwise.  I guess the term "goof" wasn't the right term.  When my mom ordered the car, her only stipulation from the dealer was automatic with tilt wheel in a coupe.  This is what she got for the "basic" car back then.  Sticker price was like $4500.
