Amazing it took this long to find submerged cars. I am guessing no one with side scan sonar fishes these waters.

That Camaro looks like it held up fairly well underwater.

If you removed all the cars from the delta it would fill up an entire junkyard. There a few off of the jersey island ferry ramp.  You can see the cars if you have a down scan sonar.

I would think the cars would be recovered by the police/sheriff as soon as they were discovered to see if a crime had been committed.

Those 69 Camaros are getting hard to find. May be easier to get the ones under water than those stashed in people's back yards.

There are few spots on the delta that so many stolen cars were dumped in the same spot that the next car dumped off the levee wouldn't sink all the way. Some cars would catch the current off of drop offs and drift to settle on the bottom nearby.

They had that problem in the water canals along the freeway.  They found like 12+ cars/motorcycles about 2 years ago in one section of the canal alone

A very special coupe.  Sort of a factory goof.  Shipped with SS/RS stripes, vinyl top & Corvette hub caps.  According to Chevy, this was never done on a coupe but IT WAS.  Family owned since new!

Mine has the hockey stick stripe that goes across the front & down the sides.  Different rims/caps than that one.

That's the first thing I thought of Rob, and the fact that car has very low miles !!!!
