Would neoprene waders be ok to use in cold weather in a kayak or should you stick with a wetsuit. I know the dry suit would be the Altamont but the budget is not there.

Thanks for your comments

I wore waders for the first time last week up in Ketchikan.  I think it will become a regular thing for me.  Waders, belt, PFD, paddle jacket.  And if it's forcasted to be a bit on the rough side, I'll throw my shorty wetsuit on underneath for added insurance.  Or perhaps get a dry top to really seal me in on those cold windy days.  Seems fine to me.  Perhaps I'll dunk myself this weekend in the Puget Sound to really give it a test.

Wearing waders in that environment was perfect.  We were walking on slippery/rocky shores and were wading between boats for loading and stuff.  Wearing something heavy duty worked well.  If I were likely to do surf launches, I don't know that I would want something that stiff but we'll see as I intend to continue wearing mine for a bit as well.
