Thieves in Santa Rosa

Got one of my two catalytic converters off my Toyota truck last night. parked in my driveway & happened between 10pm & 5am. Wish I would have had it in the garage. Those things are expensive to replace.

Sucks man!! I had mine stolen off my t100 in the middle of the day in front of my house. New factory cats were $1200 with the o2 sensor another $175. That was parts only!   

You can get aftermarket stuff for way less. I had an aftermarket cat welded  in for $600. I hope yours is less. Unfortunately the older toyota 4x4 cats are super easy to steal.

 Sorry you got hit Jim. I will sleep with one eye open since I live in your neighborhood. Im sure you feel really bad right now. Your friends and neighbors will do what we can to help keep the crime rate low.

The more I hear about this stuff the more I hate thieves. And I already REALLY hate thieves.

That's the problem Craig the older yotas were just bolted in. All you need is a wrench and a little time. Super stealthy too.

Not sure what year saltys 4runner is but most of them in Oakland have already been hit. 

Apparently they have a fair amount of precious metal in them.

That sucks Jim, sorry to hear it...

People will steal just about anything. And that is the bad use for great cordless tools. They now put locks on tailgates of trucks due to the theft of those. And they will take your airbags too. You know in the old days they hung horse thieves. Didn't our cars replace the horse. And if so shouldn't the same rules apply.   

I feel for you.  Bad things should not happen to good people. 

Check with your insurance.  My brother-in-law had the same thing happen, and his deductible to replace it was only $100. Hate those damned thieves.

I welded A cage around mine on my four runner, it would be more work  cutting and grinding than what its worth has worked for about five years now.

Happen to me once on my 85 blazer. Replaced with a straight pipe.   Till smog day.  Then got a real one  Then put back the straight one .  +3mpg.

I remember  in VA a Toyota dealership got hit one night and it was something like 40 some converters sawed off brand new trucks .
