One of my company trucks stolen in Oakland this past weekend.

  My worst nightmare is having my work truck stolen...       The laws are way too lenient on thieves.  I think we should cutoff their hand,,, after releasing them  from prison. 

I'll be looking. I'm gonna go take a look down in the Lo Bo and West O over by the port. We've found more than a few of these stolen vehicles. Sad thing is more than once that we've found stolen vehicles they have had parking tickets on them. You'd think the cops would communicate with parking enforcement..

No such luck.  I've worked here for 36 years and to think Oakland government communicates with each other is a dream.   We have more police chiefs here than Baskin-Robbins has flavors.

I once had my vintage VW stolen out of the A's parking lot years  ago.  I found it on a side street one block from the CHP on telegraph about two months later.   

I will keep my eyes open for your truck Allen.

My buddys old 4runner was stolen in Berkeley this weekend too... They stole it even though he had the breathalyzer unit installed in it & he had taken the mouthpiece inside that night... Crazy   

WhooooHoooooo....Great News. We received a call from the Oakland Police at midnight to call the California  Highway Patrol. The vehicle was discovered by the CHP on a "sweep" and towed last night. The only damage is the driver's door lock, punched ignition, and tool box lock. All the tools are missing but other than that not a scratch on the truck.  Thanks to all you guys who had your feelers out!

ps Oh and yes Oakland had ticketed the truck without even reporting it stolen. How tough would it be to link the reporting systems...
