What?!  No one going to Bean Hollow this weekend?  Forecast not so great?  I will at least drive by there early morning, probably Saturday.  If it doesn't look good, I'll head down to Monterey.  I really like BH, since it's relatively close to home.

Henry - Davenport might be another option.

Thanks for the suggestion.  Never fished Davenport.  If anyone's going there, I'm game.

Henry,

I'd be willing to meet up with you for another BH adventure.  Tim, John, Scott and I paddled through a lot of wind on Monday and this weekend is forecast to be windy as well.  Let's keep an eye on the reports and talk some more on Friday.

If the winds are mild in the morning then I would be willing to start fishing at first light (6:30 AM) before the wind really gets going.  Hopefully by 11:00 we have enough fish to call it a day.

I've never fished Davenport either but wouldn't we be subjected to the same wind and swells as BH?

Hi, Henry - I would have to miss this weekend, since I am going down to Big Sur this weekend. We have to hook up another time.

Henry,

Looking at the buoy reports the wind is up like they predicted and so are the swells.  I was hoping that the conditions wouldn't be so bad this early in the morning.   :smt102

After the battle we had last week with the wind I'm not so sure that its a good idea to push it.  At least last Monday we had a few hours to fish.  How about postponing until Sunday to see if the wind lays down a little?  However, if you need to go on Sat I'll be there for you.   :salut:

Sounds like a plan.

I'm bringing live bait again so pack your bait tube or a small bucket if you want some.  Rock fish and halibut love them but I haven't caught a ling or a cabbie on them yet.  Maybe this trip?   :smt045

Hope for better weather on Sunday.

Anyone still going to Bean Sunday? I chickened out last week but I want to go to either Bean or out of Pillar Pt.
I'll be diving, I think.

I believe the plan is still to launch at first light, around 6:30am Sunday.
I'll be there.   :smt045

Hey Y'all,

Seeing how first light is now 7:00 AM and not 6:30 AM, that's when I'll be there.  No sense stumbling around in the the dark (poison oak).

I'm bringing a friend, Bob...no not from Account Temps.  It's his first time to the Hollow so we'll be testing the theory that the newbs catch the monster fish of the day.   :fishing1

If its windy we're planning on launching anyway.  That's the problem with only having the weekends to fish, gotta scratch that itch.  If its really wild and surging then we might just go and have a nice breakfast.  The forecast is for another day like today but we'll see when we get there.   :fish

I'm bringing some small smelt from the Oakland Marshlands.  I could only net small ones and didn't get any shiners but you're welcome to some if you bring a bucket or a bait tube.   :fish:

In between wind gusts and swells, let's bag a few OK?

its about 30 minutes north of davenport, i'd say 20 to 30 minutes south of half moon bay.  you'll see signs on the way south on the 1 for different state beaches.  we all park just north of the entrance to bean hollow.  cant miss the trucks and racks.  call me if your gonna go Ben.  jtf..
