Made a trip today on the Stanislaus River. Put in at Orange Blossom at 9:00am and took out in Oakdale at 2:00pm. I only got one small rainbow trout, but the wife out fished me with a nice trout and squawfish. Fishing was a little slow, but did see some stripers swimming up river. So things should be improving soon.

That is a FINE looking fish!  Congrats.   :smt001

Native or hatchery?  Fins look so perfect, but it looks like it may have a clipped adipose?

The flow yesterday was at 350cfm and it drops tomorrow to 225cfm. We put in below were Russian Rapids is at, but I went through it 2 weeks wagon when the river was 550cfm, and it was quite fun. With the lack of rain this year I expect the release flows to be small, but the USBR has not given the extended flow releases long term.
Not sure on the question regarding a plant or native trout. All I know is that I have never seen one with this coloration, and I am not sure if there is any planting going on in area.

If not native, definitely wild.  Pretty sure no stocking takes place below the Goodwin Dam.
