Iroelikethat and I will be doing the kayak assault, cast n blast tomorrow! Got this down to a science. Bass are hitting rapalas trolled, trout are on the chew, kokanee starting to show (should tell you right there where we are going) but should be a banner day! Paddle and cruise the shores calling often to get a response, then beach the yak and go on the attack! If no birds by around 10, get on high ground and break out the spotting scopes. Look forward to the reports!

good luck guys.

If I don't hit Kirkwood I'm going to do a similar fish and bow hunt approach on Sunday. One big puffy I've seen a bunch of times while fishing maybe 200 yards off shore and always in the same spot. Big puff's goin' down... down, down, down!

I have a hard time wrapping my head around the "sport" of turkey hunting. It's not because I have a moral problem with it (after all, I kill many fish), but because the things are just so abundant and fearless. It just doesn't seem like the kind of challenge I look for. Heck, the other day there were a couple turkeys roosting on my neighbor's roof, and I live in the city!

Some of the hardest hunting is trying to get a turkey in the wild.  The ones in the woods are noting like the ones in the city.  you would be surprised how hard it is to get one.

The damn things know when they are being hunted. Great eyesight too. The run away from a bare face or hand.
.177 legal this year, yah?
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

.177 is legal yes.
Turkey hunting is different. I enjoy calling them in, then turning them inside out! Spotting and stalking Turkeys is almost impossible. I love it.

early in the am right as they leave the roost
they are pretty stupid this time of year (like bucks in rut)
they were responding from two hills away!

I'll be out on my "Trusty Steed" tomorrow morning in search of toms. Well to quite honest I have been riding my "steed"  around  the countryside the past couple of days and said Hi to all the boys...they are expecting me.....

Oh, I won't be after a big ole bird...just looking for a nice young Tom to do some magic with.
