Anyone know somewhere reasonable driving distance from Pacifica where I can demo a Revo 13?  Then...who is likely to have one in stock?

California Canoe and Kayak in Oakland carries Hobies and is an option - give them a call to arrange a demo.

Yes- CCK in Oakland have demos and they are right on the water in Jack London Square.  Easy demo as they have the kayaks on the dock to try out.

Thanks for the info Bird and Paddy-O...!

I went out to Oakland Jack London Square CCK this morning and rented a Revo 13.  They couldn't find it at first so put me into a Revo 11 until they could.  The difference in speed between the 13 and 11 is amazing, Revo 13 is way faster.  A couple of feet makes a huge difference in speed.

The mirage drive was really interesting to use.  My legs were complaining initially, but after 10-15 minutes were handling it well.  The only thing that got me thinking is the seat position when pedaling, it's almost lying down.

I like the hands free energy with a simple lever for the rudder.  I also think with the Revo 13 I can move a lot faster than paddling a comparable size yak.

The Revo 13 I was in didn't have any fishing attachments...something I'm comparing to the OK Trident 13 and OK Ultra series.

Try the Outback, too, before you pull the trigger.

I tried both and went with the Outback. No regrets. Others try both and go with the Revo.
