Hi guys I have a question about the main sheet line. I am rigging the main sheet line for my wife's Revo. On our AIs the main sheet has a block attached the sail as you see in pic 1 what benefit does it have to rig it that way or just tie it direct to the sail like pic 2. Or am I over thinking it, I keep thinking less is better and less line to bug my wife :smt013 a happy wife is a great day on the water :smt003.

With a block, you cut the load on the sheet line in half each time but require 2x the amount of line.

It's probably to reduce wear from friction.  Try it out and if it starts to wear, re-rig it with a block.

Pat, less stitches to the head with the direct route if I remember my Revo sailing days correctly...but that was before the furlers.

On keel boats, the pressure on the mainsail can be tremendous when sailing close haul. A block on the main sheet gives you mechanical advantage to sheet in with ease.
