With bass, if you'll lay the measuring board between your legs with the stopper end at a slightly downward angle then gravity will slide the fish down to the end.  When the bottom lip hits the stopper the mouth will usually close right up for you.  If it doesn't, just make sure that the pectoral fin on the bottom side of the fish is laying flat and not folded backward.  If it folds backwards it will "upset" the fish and cause him to flip around on you.

The majority of the tournaments I've fished have specific instructions on how the fish must be laying on the measuring board.  For example:  For KBF tournaments the fish must be facing left, dorsal fin up, and the mouth closed with no visible space between the top and bottom lip.  It takes me no more time to get a picture in this fashion as it would if I just threw him on the board and snapped a pic.  It's all about what the angler is used to doing.  If the fish isn't as specified by the tournament rules then it's disqualified.  Simple as that.

Hey guys,

Look what just arrived in the mail.... Custom Chatter Baits! Ya buddy! First 40 guys to pre-register gets a grab bag with one of these in it, along with a bunch of other cool stuff....

I've been fishing these for a couple years and love them. Add a twin tail grub, zoom trailer or hook a frozen shad or minnow up and out the top of the head between the eyes and they're deadly... oh did I say too much, damn!  I've had some awesome days fishing these.  Anyways 8 different colors and 3 weights. So the 18 guys who have already registered, bam, there you go!

PS- We have a Kayak to donated to this event.... stay tuned for more info.  :smt002

Reg. is outside on the mailbox now.
I like Edgewater, lots of trees with shade if it's hot.
ScottV: I never hear myself snore, so of course I don't do it :smt003

I've not had my kayak in water like the summertime Clear Lake crud.  How will the algae ect. in the water affect the mirage drive on my outback?
"Pedo Viejo" is what Antonio called me.

My registration goes in the mail tomorrow. I am looking forward to fishing Clear Lake. I've only been there once before fishing at night for catfish. We caught some nice ones. My sister in law had her pole pulled into the water by a fish. Later we snagged on the line and were able to retrieve the pole, with the catfish still on the hook. Sweet!

The algae wont affect your drive at all.  At worst you'll have a scum line on the hull that you'll need to wipe off.  If you do it as soon as you leave the water it's easy to clean.  If you let it dry it'll take some elbow grease but it'll still come off.  I think my Pro Angler has a permanent Clear Lake racing stripe! LOL
