We just had a big earthquake here up north in Humboldt

It was 6.1, 81 miles from Eureaka in the pacific.

I was standing and watching my 100 gallon fish tank water move while the ground was violently shaking back and forth.  Im on a pier and post and it really moved.  Its a good thing I waited on topping off the fish tank because it would have overflowed.
No damage that I noticed.  The dogs just laid there except Buddy was who is running around outside somewhere.

Biggest I have felt in a while.  No tsunami warnings yet. 

6.9 off of Ferndale…  get to the high ground?

Two sources I saw say 7.0 and 6.9, so it sounds like a proper Richter reading will come in by morning. 

It was STRONG and LONG!

No damage here that I've noted.  Other than my 10 year old's feelings...

That was much stronger than the one a few years ago.  I can still feel it.  It lasted a long time.  Im at the top of Humboldt Hill which is directly east of the bar in Humboldt bay that leads to the ocean.

It was fun though..

Just kept swaying and swaying - seemed to last about a minute or more!

No tsunami warnings that I've seen.

We felt it here in Paradise.  Hope everyone is okay over there on the coast.

Looks tsunami free thus far   Glad everyone is OK and had a good time 

Haven't heard any damage reports at all.  Shook for a good long time but peak ground acceleration was much lower than that 6.5 about 4 years ago.  Not even anything knocked off a shelf here.

USGS is saying that there is a 90% chance of 5.0 or greater aftershock.
