Saw this on the evening news. A women was rescued off Lover's Point clinging to her deflated raft overnight after being blown out to sea.

Good thing she was wearing a life jacket. Too bad she did not have a VHF radio to call for help.

The pair did not have the strength to lift her onto their boat. She clung onto the side of it until the Coast Guard arrived.

---------

In other words, the woman had the proportions of a walrus and her excess adipose tissue actually increased her survival prospects by providing much needed thermal insulation.

Hope they do a followup interview w the survivor.  Love to hear the tale and glad she lived to tell it!

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Not from the area (from a border town). Alone on an inflatable, without the proper gear, in winter, when a train of storms is passing through.  :smt012

Probably some bales of unknown stubstance floating nearby

I understand the motor on her inflatable gave out and then started deflating...she wanted to go out and watch the sunset...then what? Come back in the dark? Sunset was too far away from the beach? Something isn't right there...
No pedals, no problem.
