One of my Roleez cart straps became useless when the 5 cent "torque" spring inside it corroded and broke off as I was tightening up.  That leaves the little cam flopping around and the strap useless.
Thank God it didn't wait until I was on the road.  I've used straps for decades and never had that happen.  I suspect it's because I dropped it in the surf or used the straps on a sopping wet yak just after it gets out of the salt water, unlike other uses, where there isn't nearly as much water sloshing around by the time I haul gear up to the car, get other stuff loaded, etc.    Just give the metal end a squirt of WD-40 or anti-corrosion lube.
I almost always slip-knot the extra strap around the tight part just to take up the slack, but from now on, I'm going to make it a snug knot.

Thanks Tom. Just got my cart from Sean. It's great to learn before things go wrong. Randall
