I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

I know the aquarium is fun and all, and recently took my boy and the grandparents. But man, they put the MPA hard sell on there, to the point that I walked out of what should have been an enjoyable experience with my old man grumpy face on.

Yes they are.  The aquarium is a great experience for most, if you can filter out the noise and are ok knowing where your entrance fee is going.  I'm probably a little more sensitive than most on this topic.  But I also didn't want to deny my son the aquarium experience.  Have I compromised my own beliefs?  Grrr ....

Just think of it as moving on. Its in the past and you can't change that.  Who knows, maybe 10-20 years from now you'll look back and think, boy were we wrong back then to fight that!  Remember the key word is "maybe". Now can you stop hijacking threads about free aquarium passes? :)

I wholehearted agree with the use of free aquarium passes so as not to funnel a single cent of extra money into their hands.

But it is not in the past.  This is going to continue for the rest of our lives.   :smt010  And maybe in 10-20 years you might realize that there are many ways to achieve what they are trying to achieve without ramming it down our throats with incomplete and even false science.

That's why we have the future, so that we can prove who was right in the past!  We should do a time capsule.

Unfortunately it doesn't always work that way.  If fishing gets better for any reason, "they" will take the credit for that.   Never mind that fisheries management has been being overhauled since before MPA's existed here.

I promise I won't spend anything in the gift shop either.  :smt003

MLPA left me very bitter as it was a real first hand taste of getting raped by corrupt politics.  While it may help abalone because of the densities required at a local level, transients won't benefit the same.  Heaven forbid an otter moves in to a MLPA SMR or SMCA and wipes out the abs that the dfg divers would normally count because they are sitting in the open.
