Question: My son is 11 years old. When I take him fishing at the lake and he fishes from shore, can he fish with two rods or must he stick with one rod only? (H. Tran)

Answer: Your son can fish with two rods. However, once he turns 16 he will need a fishing license and a second rod stamp in order to fish with two rods.

Thanks Howard, we host a fishing derby for kids and that always comes up, of course the adults like to put their extra poles next to the kids so they are fishing 4 or 6 sometimes..

Anyone know what the second rod cost is for a lifetime fishing license, i need to look that up

Rob, about $345

Lifetime licensees who purchase the Fishing Privilege Package receive a Second-Rod Stamp, an Ocean Enhancement Stamp, a North Coast Salmon Report Card and a Steelhead Report Card.

Thanks! I just did some add'l math, if I live to 75 (40 now) with the lifetme license and privy package, I'd save almost $2Gs, hmmm...

The only downside is, as I just purchased my lifetime license and package, that I get all the report cards that I don't want, nor need, and I have to remember to turn them in at the end of the year or get fined.

Would be nice to have Second Rod Stamp ONLY available.
