My WIFE is going to HATE ME - from American Canyon | Bay AREA

Recently got into kayaking in Dec2013, brought a rod out to Napa River and was INSTANTLY HOOKED (excuse the pun). Rolling on a well used 2005 Hobie Outback. Wife is irritated that I got into kayak fishing because I tend to hyper focus on hobbies. 2014 is going to be fun...

My days off is M-F as I work on the weekends. Looking to find fishing buddies... if you're free during the weekdays, let me know and we'll fish. Would love to get more time behind the paddle.

Met Mr. "HIGH TIDE" accidentally while getting the In-Law's mail. He saw my yak and now I'm here.

That's what it's called... Madness!!!  You'll fit right in here if you enjoy fishing, rigging, kayaking, and buying fishing, rigging and kayak stuff! 

I am in the same boat.... I found this site and the norcal underwater hunters now I am on every night... LOL... my wife is pissed.... now I have a yak(that I bought off this site) now she is really mad....LOL..... oh well I think she will get over it....

Wait till you get to 5 of your own kayaks, 5 heroes on the water kayaks, and all the associated gear.

If you can swing it, try to get her into it. It makes life a little easier, although they will still get pissed that you frequent the forum so often, and talk about fishing... and keep getting new fishing gear....

but it's worth it!

I told her I was going to get a kayak last year...

She asked "How much?!?"

I told her "uhmmm... a couple hundred bucks, tops"

I've still yet to tell her how much I actually spent... especially on the HOBIE OUTBACK. Granted that the yak was used... so it was a little cheaper. Thank goodness for Craigslist and cash purchases. No trail on how much the hobby actually cost.

Been going out on local lakes and rivers alone. Hoping to find some fishing buddies on here... especially after the much needed rain.

Ed, if you are looking for some weekdays fishing buddies, the Loose Screws are hard to beat. They're so much fun to fish with and after the fishing, good food afterwards.
