I noticed your dad has the pikeminnow on a stringer.  Did he eat it?

No he let it go just needed to get pictures of it. We fished Oroville for years when I was younger when the family had a house boat I use to fish from a kayak 20 years ago. Never did we catch One of these. It hit his thin fin lure just out of the Marina.

How was it?    :smt003

I broiled it in tinfoil with lemon and butter but it smelled so bad I couldn't bring myself to taste it.  If I catch another I might try pickling it.

Somebody grilled a pikeminnow at Salmon Slam last year. I didn't taste it though.

I've never eaten a pikeminnow, but I've only heard bad things.  They were utilized by Native Americans as a food source, so I figure there's gotta be some way to make them taste decent...deep fried in beer batter perhaps?  Beer batter makes everything taste good  :smt044.

I don't recall anyone saying anything bad about how it tasted, just surprise to learn its identity. :)
