Pics of changes so far. Keep it simple. I don't prescribe to a bunch of nonsense of too much crap all over the deck. When I haul the big boys over the deck to their death. :smt003 :smt006 I installed a new Humminbird 688 ci HD unit with the Navionics card in it. Awesome graphics. I can scroll over to any area on the card and plan trips. The FF/GPS installation is a breeze. Sean White install tutorial from way back. I still use it. A seal-con pass through. Clear silicone.

The stock battery bag up front is a perfect place for the extra wire from the transducer. Then I buy another bag fro Ocean Kayak for the battery. Oh Yea. I changed the seat out to the Ocean Kayak Comfort Pro seat. 89 bucks. Its a comfortable seat with a low back so I can access the rear area without a big reach over the seat. I also got rid of the shock cord webbing over the rear well area. Using just enough to keep the T handle loaded. A lot of peeps take off the grab ropes on the side. Not me. They provide a place to grab in emergencies and you can see the reflective quality of the cord.

? on transducer wiring. The transducer wiring you routed is covered with a black cover ?? Were is it from. Looks like you drilled thru and then used as a cover?
Nice touch with the wire in the bag keeps it clean install
? does that 688 fit in ok with lid closed for transport?

The transducer wire cover comes with the Humminbird kit Poulton. The wires are in an insulated sheath the length of the cable. The 688 as with the 597 I had on my other 13 just almost folds down enough to completely shut the sonar shield. Not quite. The GPS combos are just a bit thicker in body. It folds down almost shut.

My desire was to have all three Tridents. I feel that these are the best kayaks for me to use. I believe in OK. OK has afforded me a quality fishing platform since 1996. Then at the end of the season I get to turn a couple of people on to a great deal when my new boats arrive for the current year.

Thanks for taking time to create the presentation Craig. It shows that NCKA  experience off for the rest of us newcomers. I appreciate all I have learned here and hope to find more ways to give back. See you on the water soon.

Anyone tried putting a 688 on the Scotty No. 368 Universal Sounder Mount?  I'd like to be able to move the 688 around, and remove it for storage.  Is that feasible?

Looks like a great setup. but the dual colors look like a big fishing lure. Be careful what catches you.  :smt006
