what about having the option to have the kids fish over a few days say Friday and/or Sat (ending at the tourney cut off time) and they enter ONE (with no up sizing) blue or black. I got two kids if I took each out separately (would have to) I'd use all my tourney time. Would be really cool to have one prize be for the youngest angler with the largest fish (perhaps deduct an inch per year of age)?

careful with that rule or Hobie Dave will want us to deduct and inch per year from our catch for anglers age difference too then Dave will win the tournament with a 10" black.
 

This is a great idea. Omar will be happy and even though I don't realy fish to compete I'd be much happier if he caught fish, had a good time, and maybe even won than I would if I won.

Good Idea. How about Blacks and Blues. They can be tough to seperate, ID wise, especially if you are using photographs

I wont be there until late friday night. I am sure others are in the same boat. Im good either way, but think it should be kayaking.

This is a great idea I really like the thought of some more family friendly things to do that get our kids involved in NCKA. They had a really good time at the Gyotaku fish printing. Although it is too bad that it will be during the tournament. I have at least two daughters 12 and 16 that would love to get in on this but with the Mrs. and I on the water probably wont get a chance to participate.

Could always do a kid's beach perch derby.  The takagis were killing the perch from the beach last year.

That's also a good idea too, Ben. I think the are a few Grandpas coming who are not kayak fishing. They and some of the non kayaking ladies could chaperone some beach fishing.
