Hello everyone,
Just bought my first kayak this year and am new to fishing on it.  I'm surprised how much harder it is than on a boat or shore.  Lots of drifting and multi tasking.  You Pros make it look so easy.

Hope to fish with some of you sometime.  So far, only been to Lafayette Res, Baker beach, and along the Richmond shoreline.

Cheers.

Kevin

Welcome Kevin, try signing up for Berryessa and get some ideas in how to set up your kayak to make it easier to fish.
what kind of kayak did you get?

Welcome kevin. I hope to meet and fish with you someday. If you can , come out to the AOTY ( Angler OF The Year) event on February 16th to fish and chill.

Thanks everyone.
I bought a Pelican 130t Tandem SOT.  Not really a fishing kayak but my girlfriend and I like to paddle around the Berkeley shoreline on the weekends.  Makes a great crab fishing kayak when I'm solo and gives me plenty of space for gear.  Not the fastest or most nimble but I'm comfortable enough to be on the water for a few hours.

I'll look into the Berryessa event.  I'm really new to all the kayak gear and lingo but I hope to learn from you all.

welcome! you can do a lot from a tandem thats not set up for fishing off the shelf. Check out how people are rigging them up, and do what you can to make that tandem as simple and effective as possible!

Welcome aboard Kevin.  I think I may have seen a few of your reports on the sniffer before.

Try to make it to a few events if you can.  There is a hookup at the forebay end of this month as well.  See you around.
